This day in HISTOROCK !! Bad Company !!

        This day in HISTOROCK !!

In 1974, Bad Company went to No.1 on the US album chart with their self-titled debut album !! The album contained some of Bad Company's biggest hits : ''Can' Get Enough'', "Ready For Love", "Rock Steady" and the title track !! The band came together when Paul Rodgers & Simon Kirke left Free, and hooked up with Mott The Hoople's, Mick Ralphs, and Boz Burrell from King Crimson !! Rodgers came up with the idea for the name Bad Company from a book of Victorian morals that showed a picture of an innocent kid looking up at an unsavory character leaning against a lamppost. The caption read "beware of bad company". They were also the first band signed to Led Zeppelin's new label Swan Song Records and the connection didn't end there, as Zeppelin manager Peter Grant also managed Bad Company !! They went on to release 5 more albums before before Rodgers left the band in 1982 after the release of "Rough Diamonds". Rodgers decision to leave the band was influenced in part, by the death of John Bonham !!  Since then, Rodgers career has included stints with Jimmy Page in The Firm, with Queen for a short time after the death of Freddie Mercury, a successful solo career and now back with Bad Company and still touring !!  In 2011 Rodgers toured Canada co-headlining with Canadian rock icons Bachman Turner and became a Canadian Citizen on October 21/2011 and is now a dual citizen of the UK and Canada !! He currently lives in Surrey, British Columbia !! After all these years, still "Can't Get Enough'' !!

Keep on ROCKIN !!
Trike :-)
