             This day in HISTOROCK 1975 , a band who could well be described as one of the most influential bands in MUSIC  history was born !! The Sex Pistols , who had formed earlier that year made their live debut !! The show was held at St Martin's School of Art in London as opening act for Bazooka Joe featuring Staurt Goddard who would later become known as Adam Ant ! The Sex Pistols were using Bazooka Joe's equipment and kicking the crap out of it , so enough was enough !! The plug was pulled and The Sex Pistols first live show lasted all of 10 minutes !! 
                         The Sex Pistols original line-up consisted of singer Johnny Rotten , lead guitar player Steve Jones , drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock who was replaced by Sid Vicious in early 1977 . Their initial career only lasted  two and a half years producing just 4 singles and one studio album  Never Mind The Bollocks , Here's the Sex Pistols !! They were one of the most influential bands in music history and are credited with initiating the "punk" movement !
                         In 1985, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols was voted by writers of NME as the thirteenth greatest album of all time and in 1993, NME writers voted the album the third greatest of all time !! In 1987, Rolling Stone magazine named it the second best album of the previous 20 years, behind only The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Rolling Stone journalist Charles M. Young stated: "Never Mind the Bollocks changed everything. There had never been anything like it before and really there's never been anything quite like it since. The closest was probably Nirvana, a band very heavily influenced by the Sex Pistols."
                         On Feb 24,2006 , the four original members plus Vicious were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame . In typical Sex Pistols fashion , they refused to attend , calling the museum a "piss stain" !! I totally agree of course :-) Like the album said "Never Mind the fucking Bollocks Here's The Sex Pistols !!
