This day in HISTOROCK !! Peter Sellers !!

        This day in HISTOROCK !!

This edition of HISTOROCK is not really about Peter Sellers, but the band that played the party !! In 1975, an All-Star jam session took place at the koolest birthday party in Los Angeles for the actors 50th birthday. The line-up for the group who named themselves the Trading Faces was: the Rollin Stones, Bill Wyman on bass & Ronnie Wood on guitar, well known studio musicians Jesse Ed Davis and Danny Kortchmar on guitars, The Who's Keith Moon on organ and drums, gravelly voiced Joe Cocker on vocals, Nigel Olsson from Elton John's band on drums, the Spider From Mars himself, David Bowie on vocals & sax, and Bobby Keys on sax !! WOW,WOW,WOW !! What a party that would have been !! Can you imagine in 1975, these guys were in their prime and some of the biggest names in ROCK !!  To give you an idea where these artists were in their career, The Stones had released "It's Only Rock and Roll" 1974 , The Who "By Numbers" 1975, David Bowie "Young Americans" 1975, Joe Cocker "Jamaica Say You Will" 1975, Elton John's classic "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" 1975 !! I'm sure their is video or audio of this somewhere, but is must be very well hidden !! These are some great pics from that party !! And to answer the famous Inspector Clouseau question : Does your dog bite ? ;-) ..... No, but my band ROCKS :-)

Keep on ROCKIN !!
Trike :-)
