Helix/Honeymoon Suite concert review !!

                     Went to a great live show Sat nite featuring 2 iconic Canadian rock legends HELIX and HONEYMOON SUITE !! Helix opened the show with a fast paced and very energetic performance featuring some of their classics "Rock You" , "Wild In The Streets" , "Gimme Gimme Good Lovin" and of course "Heavy Metal Love" which ended up being a "killer" duet between lead singer Brian Vollmer and local artist Melanie Morgan !! Vollmer was the mentor to Morgan on the Canadian show Cover Me Canada ! Vollmer defies the aging process(he's 58)  doing running somersaults on stage !! When I said energy I meant "ENERGY" !! The band was so tight !! Awesome set !!

                        Next up Honeymoon Suite !! The only original member singer Johnny Dee is back together with early members : guitarist Derry Grehan , bassist Gary Lalonde , keyboardist Peter Nunn and drummer Dave Betts !! Although visually no match for the energy of Helix , Honeymoon Suite's energy was the music . The love the audience had for Honeymoon Suite was very obvious !! Hit after hit they had the audience on their feet singing along to the all their classics !! "Feel It Again" , "Wave Babies" , "Burning In Love" , "Love Changes Everything" to name a few and of course "New Girl Now" !! The crowd reaction was what any band dreams about when they go on stage and Honeymoon Suite delivered big time !! Being 55 and watching both bands with guys in their 50's made me feel young again :-)
