On this day in 2005 , a life sized staue of Phil Lynott designed by Paul Daly was unveiled on Harry Street in Dublin , Ireland !! The ceremony was attended by former Thin Lizzy band members : Gary Moore (RIP) , Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham . Lynott who died in 1986 at age 36 had a string of hits including Whiskey In The Jar , The Boys Are Back In Town , Cowboy Song , Jailbreak , Johnny , Dancing In The Moonlight !! One of the best singer/songwriters of our time and an exceptional showman !!  Like Billy Joel said "Only The Good Die Young" :-(  RIP Phil Lynott !!  Thin Lizzy has also had a large influence of a lot of rock bands such as Metallica , Iron Maiden , Mastodon to name just a few ! It is also time that the so called "Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame" woke up to nominate and induct Thin Lizzy into the Hall for their incredible contribution to the music buisness ! We the FANS can also do something too as was witnessed this year with the induction of Rush !! Let's try to get Thin Lizzy their rightful spot in the Hall for 2014 !!
