              In 1971 , we lost one of the greats of our time when Jim Morrison of The Doors was found dead in the bathtub by his girlfriend Pam Courson in their apartment in France . This was a very sad loss as Morrison had developed a severe alcohol and drug dependency, which culminated in his untimely death !! The official cause of death was listed as a heart attack, but because this happened in France, no autopsy was performed because the medical examiner stated that there was no evidence of foul play. The absence of an official autopsy has left many questions regarding Morrison's cause of death. Did he die from natural causes as stated ? Did he die of an overdose ? Did he take his own life ? Some even suggested that he faked his own death . In July 2007, in his book,  Sam Bernett, a former manager of the Rock 'n' Roll Circus nightclub claims that Morrison came to the club to buy heroin for Courson then used some himself and died in the bathroom . His body was then moved back to his apartment and dumped into the bathtub by the two drug dealers who sold Morrison the heroin !!  We will never know !! Morrison and his girlfriend had come to France to get away from all that was going on in the US with Jim's court cases !! They moved into a rented apartment in Paris on the Rue Beautreillis (on the Right Bank).  Morrison had many run ins with authority . In 1967, Jim broke his agreement with the Ed Sullivan Show .  The show’s producers were feeling nervous about drug references in the song lyrics of “Light My Fire”.  Morrison said before the live performance that he wouldn’t sing the words, "girl, we couldn’t get much higher", but he did anyway !! He was arrested by the FBI after a disturbance on a flight and on stage more than once, with the most famous incident being in 1969 when he was charged with lewd and lascivious behaviour after showing his penis to the audience during a show in Miami. He was later acquitted on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior, but was found guilty of exposing himself during the concert !! On the 25th anniversary of his death an estimated 15,000 fans gathered at Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, France to pay their respects !!

 Jim didn't write songs with an instrument, but came up with melodies in his head to his own words !! Morrison and The Doors legend and mystique will live forever !! They'll still be playing "Light My Fire ", "LA Woman", "Riders On The Storm" and many other Doors songs, 50-100 years from now and beyond !! Many writers called Jim the perfect rock frontman : " Wild, Sexy, and Unpredictable" !!  RIP Lizard King !!
